SANDY VOSS
The New Rag Rug
Red Happy Rug
If the term "rag
rug" conjures up images of your grandmother's quaint shaggy creations in
mismatched colors, think again. Voss's work elevates the rag rug
to high art.
Classic
Happy Rug
Sandy Voss has been
weaving rugs for three decades. Her rugs present abstract, organic
patterns, suggesting waves and winding paths. Occasionally her designs
are representational or figurative. Her colors hit the richest
notes in a natural spectrum.
Classic Necktie Rug
Voss uses contemporary materials,
including fabric, textiles, and high-end loom factory waste, (i.e., Pendleton
selvage-edge strips, upholstery-industry cast-offs). Many of her
creations are much larger than your granny's. Her current loom can
accommodate a ten foot width. She is able to weave room-sized rugs
to most custom sizes.
