Phil Hulebak was born in 1951 in Fargo, North Dakota and moved to New Mexico when he was three.He attended the University of New Mexico in the early 70’s concentrating his efforts in the fine arts.He found his calling early by painting landscapes. Phil enjoys the serenity of being on location capturing the moment in plein air. Michael Lynch, Kevin McPherson and Scott Christensen were his most influential teachers. Hulebak enjoys working with local colors and values that gives his paintings not only accurate validity but genuine warmth. He has taken workshops in Taos, the Scottsdale Artist School and Casper College in Wyoming. Phil continues taking workshops from artists of interest. As the years have unfolded he has explored through his painting the mountains, rivers, vistas and the multi-cultural society this land of enchantment has to offer.
